TheRentalDaddy ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our website, mobile applications, and booking services (collectively, the "platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have regarding your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you use TheRentalDaddy:
- Account and profile information: your name, mobile number, email address, and password (stored in encrypted form) when you register.
- Booking information: check-in/check-out dates, number and type of guests, property preferences, special requests, and identity/ID details where a property requires them for check-in.
- Payment information: transaction amount, payment method type, and payment status. Full card numbers, UPI PIN, and net-banking credentials are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment gateway partner and are not stored on TheRentalDaddy's own servers.
- Location data: approximate or precise location (with your permission) to show relevant nearby properties, and city/area you search for.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser/app type, device identifiers, pages viewed, search queries, and interaction logs, collected automatically to help us operate and improve the platform.
- Communications: messages you send to our customer support team, reviews, ratings, and feedback you submit.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and process your bookings and payments.
- To send booking confirmations, check-in instructions, OTPs, and important service updates via SMS, email, WhatsApp, or push notification.
- To provide customer support and resolve complaints, disputes, or refund requests.
- To personalise search results, recommend properties, and show you relevant offers based on your search and booking history.
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms & Conditions.
- To comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations, including guest-registration requirements at certain properties.
- To analyse platform usage and improve our website, app, and services.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With Hosts/property partners: booking details (name, contact number, stay dates, number of guests, and ID details where legally required) are shared with the specific property you book, solely to facilitate your stay.
- With payment gateway providers: to process your payment securely; these providers are independently bound by RBI-compliant data security standards.
- With SMS/OTP and communication providers: to deliver booking confirmations, OTP verification, and service alerts.
- With service providers: such as cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support tooling vendors, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons: where required by law, court order, or a valid request from a government or regulatory authority in India.
- In a business transfer: if TheRentalDaddy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to confidentiality commitments.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as local storage and SDK-based analytics in our mobile apps) to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, understand how you use our platform, and show relevant content. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some platform functionality such as staying logged in or saved search filters.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal, accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution requirements (typically up to 8 years for booking and payment records, in line with applicable Indian financial record-keeping norms). You may request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to information we are legally required to retain.
6. Your Rights
In line with the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information in your profile.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses, such as marketing communications and location-based personalisation, at any time.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint about how your data has been handled through our support channels, and expect a response within a reasonable timeframe.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 8 below.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage of passwords, restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis, and secure, PCI-DSS compliant handling of payment data by our gateway partners. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we encourage you to also protect your account credentials.
8. Contact Us for Privacy Queries
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or how your personal information is handled, please reach out through the "Contact Us" section on the TheRentalDaddy website or app, or write to our support/grievance team at the registered contact email listed on our platform. We aim to acknowledge privacy-related requests within a reasonable timeframe as required under applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or your registered email/mobile number. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.
